Made this display for the public library I work at. It was up all last month and it seemed to get a good reaction! Just took it down but I figured I'd share it here with you guys. Carp fishing is extremely popular overseas and is taking off here in America. If you haven't caught any of these golden beauties I highly recommend giving it a go! A word of warning though - you might just find it hard to go back to Bass or Catfish! roflmao

Catch and release. The dream - to catch one of every species of Freshwater fish in our great state! If only I can resist Carp...

Great display, it is always good to show that there just isn't cat fish and bass to catch. Targeting fish like crappie, striper, sun fish, trout, and carp all have their own fishing technique and lures/bait specific to targeting that species.

Although I still like the idealized stereotype that in order to go fish and catch something, ALL you need is a rod/reel, a bobber, and a hook with a worm on it...in essence that is the quintessential fishing setup that could technically catch you just about any kind of fish....if only it were that easy :p *quietly looks at the 100's-1,000's of dollars of fishing stuff in the garage*

They sure do! The spawn should be wrapping up here shortly. Late March - April is typical here in Texas.

LOL! All fish are fun and worthwhile to catch, carp are my favorite by a long shot but I do occasionally target Bass, Catfish, and other species!
