About 1” long hanging around the office door. I introduced him to the backside of a notepad and he is currently making friends with the residents of the sewer system.

I’m no spider expert, but I’m pretty sure that’s a Cobra.

I was thinking wolf spider but recluse was in the back of my mind. Either way, it's a dead spider now.

I remember one time, as a kid at a pool party, I went to slip some shoes on that were sitting outside, and I felt something up in the toe of the shoe. I thought, why is there lettuce in my shoe? I wiggled my toes into it and thought, yep, lettuce. Strange. I slid my foot out of the shoe and a wolf spider jumped out that was about the size of a German shepherd. It's a wonder I didn't leap clear on to the roof of the house.

I smashed a wolf spider one time and a hundred tiny wolf spiders "exploded" from it.

Best way to identify a spider is to douse it in lighter fluid, set it on fire, and do a spectrographic analysis of the resulting flames.
