Any pointers on crappie on jigs in shallow water? Kinda seems fun, plus I could use some meat in the fridge. Not much of crappie catcher but thinking about trying it.

It is fun and addicting. The recent rain sent some muddy water down the creeks so may take a day or two for things to stabilize. Water will be muddy but don't let that stop you. When it's that color, fish will be very shallow, 18" maybe less. If there's enough water to cover their back, they will be there.

The fish have not made the a big run this year at all. Catching females that have not spawned here and there. They are still moving up!
