Hey guys, I'll keep it simple I'm think of getting a kayak, but is there a place in or near Johnson County I can try one out? I'd like to see if my fat butt can even fit in one you know? lol

Mariner Sails in Dallas will let you demo kayaks. They demo every Saturday morning. Dallas is a bit of a haul for you, but Mariner Sails has top notch customer service and has a wide variety of kayaks in stock. In my opinion, they are well worth an hour drive. https://www.mariner-sails.com/

Mountain Sports in Arlington and Kayak Instruction Inc at paddle point park on Lake Ray Hubbard are also good options.

Not sure what Issues Dan has with Marinar but I and most others in here really like them and their customer service.
Anyway you may look at some of your local lakes and see if any yak guys there. Most likely they will let you take a quick ride.
