Lowering the dam? They would have to remove it rock by rock. That would take ALOT of work. Can't believe anyone would pay to do that. They have the gates permanently open to Sandlin but I think that is all they are going to do.

They are done with all the changes they are going to make. Going to be interesting lake when Sandlin/Monti experience a big drop due to drought which it will someday. Been a good year for Texas lake levels including many out west. Wont last forever though.

Gates have been left open which drops the lake's level down 3' from past full pool. The lake can only afford to drop another 2 to 3 foot before the ramp gets tough to launch. It would be nice if Titus County would go in and improve the ramp so it would correlate with the new levels, but doubt they can budget the money for the fix.

The ramp issue can be simply solved, buy some 80 pound bags of sack-crete and orderly stack them at the end of the ramp, they will cure and the ramp will be extended

As good as the fishing is there right now, its worth putting in from a dirt bank. Find a little rock for traction and youre golden.

The roads in the park are getting terrible. Be careful with the potholes, some of them can break an axle. They have a pile of asphalt up there & the roads could be easily fixed. The park went up a dollar per person & they are doing nothing that I can see to fix anything up.

As Frank noted the FISHERMAN can not go from lake to lake.....unless you get a really fast running start at the dam!
