TCA is born. Texas Crappie Anglers.

I thought it was explained why I formed this club. It's not intended to replace CAT, it's in addition to CAT. A lot of Crappie fishermen in the area are getting older or just don't want to travel to Garland or Allen or wherever. I fully intend to continue to support CAT as well as TCA. Heck I would like a meeting with other Crappie heads every week.

It's about helping new anglers get started, fellowship, family friendly sharing of a sport we all love. Tournaments are a great way to learn a lot but not all are interested in them.

Let's not make this a contest CAT vs TAC, let's enjoy both. We are lucky to have so many anglers willing to share what they know. I'm proud to have had a hand in helping a lot of the anglers in the area.

www.texascrappieanglers.com under construction.

First meeting will be at Marshall's BBQ. corner of Josey Lane and Rosemeade Parkway in Carrollton on Tuesday, April 23rd. I plan on being there at 6:00 to eat and visit. The meeting will start at 7:00 PM.. We will meet there on the 4th Tuesday of each month as long as the room will hold us. (it's free) If we outgrow the space we will probably move to the Library up the street.

I sincerely hope CAT understands that we are not trying to interfere with their growth and operation.
Were just a group of Crappie nuts interested in a different path. If it's not educational and fun we won't do it.

I'm depending on the members (if we have any) keeping us on this track. All changes to the bylaws (when we get them written) will be voted on by the members, No board of directors making changes and decisions for us.

Hate to be the one to say it Ernest, but choosing a name that so closely resembles Crappie Anglers of Texas (minus the preposition "of") will undoubtedly cause some confusion. But hey, it's a free country. wink
That being said, I will attend when I can because I don't believe you can ever learn too much about crappie fishing. thumb
As for the educational aspect... I've been an educator for 27 years and I love to take newbies out fishing. I'm off most of the summer, and will be happy to offer opportunities to take people out who want to learn. Looking forward to it.

I really like the logo. Hope to attend but work and kids sports schedules dictate my availability.

Congratulations! I hope to attend some day, but travel most Tuesdays with work. Will follow group on line and hope to come across members on Lewisville, Ray Roberts and Grapevine.

I'm in! I'm looking forward to learning more as I'm just starting to get into Crappie fishing and Lake Lavon has been tough on me so far. See you guys on the 23rd. Also, like you said the website is under construction, is there an official sign-up or do we just show up at the first meeting?

Since the group name is already owned by Facebook and this looks to be a DFW area group, why not North Texas Crappie Anglers?

I don't think Texas Crappie Anglers is in use on Facebook.

Crappie Anglers of Texas is.
