Congrats to the winners and all that got paid.
Fun and crazy day for us. Probably had over 40 bites but never could get a bigger bite. Could not buy a bite on moving baits. Dodged lightning, hail, man eating gnats, otters, snakes a nbn d rain/wind but we had a blast. Fish bit and we enjoyed Rayburn as always.

Congrats to the winners for sure. It was a crazy day on Rayburn. First storm we put boat on trailer and had some company in the truck from other guys trying to get out of the weather. The second sent us home. When you both cast and are throwing swim baits and can hear both of your lines humming that's enough for me. It sounded like a swarm of bees, we knew what was or could happen. Reeled in and ran to launch dumped them and called it a day. That is a very uncomfortable feeling mainly because it had not even started thundering yet. We were around the San Augustine Park area,

Parked in the boat slips at Jackson hill twice, dodged the bad weather above the 147. Got lucky cause the south end got pounded. Dumped about 13lbs at the ramp. Caught em all in 30 min on s frog. Weird bite

That first storm snuck up on us a little, so we just put the boat on the bank and road it out. A lot more lightning than I like and the first time I've ever been hailed on in my boat. We were watching the radar for the second storm and were just getting ready to run for the truck when our rods started humming when we held them up. Figured it was time to go. Sat in the truck for about 30 minutes before we hit it again. We were blessed to catch 6 keepers for 16.83 and 23rd place. Caught two on a hb frog, 3 on a spinnerbait and one on a Senko. We were really surprised that we couldn't catch anything on the grass flats in front of the bushes, but everything came out of the bushes. The guys who won it said they caught everything flipping soft plastics in the bushes.

Guess it was just location, location, location.

It was a weird day for sure. Would have sworn a frog bite and drains would be the ticket. Last week we had 9 fish all between 4-7lbs in drains. Figured that bite would just get better. Yesterday we got zero bites on a frog and only a couple dinks in drains. They were definitely in bushes. We figured that out, but didnt think we could catch 25lbs+ in em so we didnt stick with it. Ended up with 15lbs.

We caught ours pitching to hardwoods and isolated bushes on the first 1/4 or so inside points. From dirt deep to 5''6'. Lots of 2lb clones though. Normally if you get as many bites as we did yesterday you will hit a good fish in the head. It just never happened for us. Fun day of catching though.
