While searching and learning to identify spawning areas, I have often pulled into a flat or slew that has ALL the right signs of being prime only to find every clump of grass, steep undercut bank, etc just teaming with carp and/or gar and causing all kind of commotion. Is this a sign to move on or are they in there and thats why the trash fish are in there, wearing out the beds? (Sigh) I hate the spawn. Thinking of loading the Lund with the bow and leave the rods at home until they get back on the brush good 😜

Usually if the carp are in there going crazy then that means that the spawn is on the downswing in the area. This is what I have found. Now there may be some spawners in the area but most will have already spawned. Carp spawn in water temps close to 70 if I remember correctly.

Well dang. Sound theory by Anthony then this, lol! Guess I should have worked the area over a little more thoroughly. Figured theyd be aggressive if they were there in beds. Didnt get any quick bites so decided to find new water. Water surface temp in the shallows 63.4.
