Will be fishing lake calcasieu on 4/13/19. Anybody been over there lately. I will be fishing for spec's and reds in a "meat hunt".

It gets tougher over there every year. It seems to be the result of the pressure that the lake gets. Usually I would keep a eye on the early boat traffic to see what general direction it goes and us that as a starting point. If the majority go south then go south, north then go north. Not pot lick off them but get a general idea of where the fish are. The last couple of times I have been there guides actually had bass at the cleaning tables. Never saw that before.

It used to be we never threw anything but plastics and caught limits pretty often. Last few times way more people throwing live shrimp.

It's still good just not what it was. The amount of rain has effected it. Sabine is super fresh. It's going to take a while to stabilize.
