About to install internet and security at our Lake house at Fork. Need some suggestions. I�ve asked around and not getting good answers.

I know this is the fishing section but figured it gets viewed more and will get more responses.

Get you a set of Swan security cameras Sinkey with 135* cameras. Comes with a DVR . I got the hard wired system around my house and easy to install. Caught a guy stealing my lawnmower out of my garage. Cops caught him and I got my lawnmower back. You can buy straight from the factory or Fry's carries them.

We live over in Lands End and use ADT for security monitoring and People's telephone out of Quitman for internet.

Most everyone on wood county side of Fork is stuck with Peoples. Be prepared for some Stone Age internet speeds. I am running .24mbps...yes .24.

I have bonded DSL line from Peoples at my lake house on Cypress. It's 2 DSL lines put together. It's more than adequate for being at the lake house and can stream netflix or whatever just fine unless we have 15 people there. For cameras, we use Arlo Go cameras with AT&T chips in them at my ranches. Have an awesome app on my phone and can actually see, hear and talk through them over my cell phone or on my laptop with live video and recordings. If you mount your cameras close enough to your wifi router or if you get a really strong wifi router, you can run them through that unless you have data limits. The AT&T SIM chip ones we use are maybe $30/month for the service and they work great.

I didn't want a telephone line that's needed with Peoples...I went with ViaSat, It does ok for us, I can watch Netflix, etc....$62 mo.
I have Direct TV with ATT, also works ok,...$45 mo for basic. I'm only there when its warm,..ha.. jim

I've heard People's no longer requires a phone with Internet...

Our internet is wth our Dish package and isn't very good. We are in Hangout Cove right behind Diamond Park Homes.

We recently started an Internet service provide company and are currently servicing Sulphur Springs and Winnsboro but we haven't got to the Fork area yet. Depending on where your located there may be some fixed wireless providers that can service you.
I can also help with cameras if needed.
