Don't forget, The Matthew Carrol Memorial tournament is now less than a month away!!!

We are having a "for fun" Charity tournament in honor of our great friend Matthew Carrol. It is $50 per team / boat. All entry fee money will be donated to Beverly Woods Foundation (youth hunting & fishing charity). Tournament will be held on Cedar Creek lake on Saturday April 13th. you can start fishing at 7 am and will need to be inline at weigh in by noon. There will be a table of prizes for anglers to choose from in order of their finishing place in tournament. (some very nice bead fish counters, jigs, Ted Huckabee rod, etc. and I am expecting a couple more things). Also, we are going to have a big fish pot that will be $10 per team, winner take all.

We are going to have a fish fry after weigh in (around 12:30 or 1) so everyone gets a chance to B.S with each other (one of Matthews favorite things to do). If you are coming please pm me with team names and at least one cell number. This is a for fun tournament so if you want 3 or 4 people in the boat with you, that's your call, just be safe. Your boats best 7 fish will be weighed. You can pay at tournament. (preferably a check made to Beverly Woods Foundation) Big fish will be cash only.

Was just contacted by Jigums older brother, him & another brother (maybe other family) I believe are going to make it to the fish fry. And he also asked if I would assist in spreading Jigums ashes at a couple of his favorite fishing spots on the lake. Of course I said yes. Se y'all there!

Lets see...
a few ashes at Red Dock, a few at Green Dock, a few at the BP off the point with the tall pine, a few over at the laydown near the islands....well, maybe just pick a couple. He had way too many spots he liked.

Don't forget Judges dock and the ones across from it, plus the pile in the mouth of the cove that has a Green oaks sign at the end of it next to Super dock 2. ( I call this Jigum pile because we would find him on that pile everytime we came up to it) Oh yeah and Bird dog pile and Eagle dock.

Need to request some help with fish for the fish fry. If anyone has some Crappie fillets they can donate between now and then or can just bring the day of tournament, that would be great. I have about 60 -80 and David Welcher has offered the 80 that he has but I was hoping not to clean him out if someone else has some or can catch some in the next couple of weeks. Plus he's bringing hush puppies. I'm gonna try to get out this saturday morning but I haven't had much luck lately finding fish so I'm not very confident. Shoot me a pm if you can help

A gal. bag of fillets will feed about 22-23 people. We've used this estimate for several big fish frys and it's been spot on every time. Usually a little left over.

I don�t have any crappie left in the freezer and haven�t added any big quantities yet this year but I do have a gallon or two of channel catfish if you want that. Just let me know and I can bring them.

Hey Kev. Not going to fish but will be there to give you a hand with the fish fry. Will give you my donation then for a good cause.

Thanks Dave. I am working on a back up if it rains we can go 10 minutes away and have a dry spot for the fish fry. Hopefully it will be nice though.

Soooo many spots...
We made an announcement at Crappiefest and at our last CAT meeting.
I'll make sure it gets mentioned again at the April CAT meeting next week as well.
