Not everyone thinks like that. I don't replace rods or reels unless it breaks or i lose it over the side of the boat. I still use alot of rods i bought in the late 80's, early 90's. Reels i replace more often because i never clean them and they wear out.

I haven't bought rod in 3 years, I have decent stuff but alot I got on here. 219 bucks is most I have paid for a rod. It works just fine.

We used to shop at Western Auto. They had a nice supply of lures and tackle. Cullum & Boren was downtown and a once a year trip.

Totally agree. I loaded up on the $75 Academy H2O rods when they clearenced them at $19. MH for soft plastics and big hardbaits and M for smaller hardbaits.
Also use a Bucco that was purchased for less than $100. All I need.

Another you dont need anything nice thread. Lots of us dont need a lot of things but they sure are nice. Just fished with my sons new Kistler Z-Bone with a Dawai Steeze. If money were no object Id have several of those combos.

I like expensive tackle so when I don't catch squat I still look good trying.

I need expensive rods. Believe they help me suck at fishing but keep me from being terrible. Plus, I can talk about my equipment when I don't have any fish to talk about. $30 rods would just give me an excuse to use.
