With warming waters the bite is getting better and better for whites and hybrids all around Texas. I was able to go out today to FPH in the 20 mph winds and thanks to minnkota spot lock, was able to put about 30 whites/hybrids in the boat in about 2.5-3 hours.

Sailboat point has continued to be very productive for myself, friends, and Trollingchanga, I mean Timmychanga. Fish can be found on the flats of the point but my best stops have been on the upper halves of the southern slopes of the point.

I also found loads of whites with occasional hybrids at the mouth of poverty point into the spillway in 30ish fow which produced the lions share of todays trip.

My last stop was in front of Johnson park. It held lots of hybrids but too windy to fish today.

Try using live shad if you can catch it. Today I used 1.5 ounce jig heads with a 7 inch magnum zoom flukes fished usually within a few feet of bottom in rod in holder while I slabbed for white bass off the back of my boat. Drop slab to bottom, lift up 6-12 inches and usually I would get bites. Sometimes I would lift the slab off the bottom reaching as high as I can in about 5-7 seconds. This was very productive after I hooked the first few fish and had the schools attention. You can see on my all 2D screen shot about 20-30 fish chasing the bait off the floor of the lake.

Tight lines!

I just get tired of brag and no helpful information being shared (not necessarily on TFF but among the fishing community in general) so look forward to more helpful posts from me in the future. I want ppl to go have amazing trips and make memories with friends and family. cheers

Thank You for SHARING everything about your trip. I read this site everyday trying to get information and learn how to catch some of our Texas stripers. I feel as you, our lakes are Public waters...I want everybody that goes to have SUCCESS catching fish. I do not believe that by sharing a private personal spot and How we catch our fish will ruin that spot...there is a lot of fish in our lakes. Thank you for your post. I look forward to reading your future posts...

Amen brother! And one thing I realized is just because you tell people doesn't mean they are going to go catch a ton of fish. I have two friends that go with me often. We will go catch a ton of fish one day with myself, they go out in their own boats in the following days and both get skunked or not far from it, then go again with me and we fill the boat up again. Not bragging but just saying there are a lot of puzzle pieces to put together with on the water judgment/experience that has to take place to put fish in a boat. But at least people know the general areas that are holding these fish now. That's one reason I don't think people should worry so much about telling others what areas the fish are in. Plus you have to have the right equipement, such as a smart trolling motor to fish most these areas unless you are a Trollerchanga.

Hollar at me when you do and hopefully I can give you some of the latest details so maybe you will have a better trip. I usually go once a week if I am lucky but about to get extremely busy in May and first half of June and may not get a lot of time to go then.

Great report. I am one of fisherman, just learning to use the electronics to catch fish. Reports like this, really help us, even on our home lakes. Thanks for sharing.
