I work only a short drive from Lake Benbrook, but I've never fished there. Now that the time has changed, I was thinking about pulling my boat up to work and hitting the lake a few evenings. Since I seldom see many posts about this lake I thought I would throw this up here and see what you guys could tell me. Any general insight would be appreciated.

Some big bass in there she doesn't like to give them up often though, try timber and work your way to the back of mustang .Should be staging or might be some bedding in the back the old trussle.

Benbrook is a total structure lake.. except for the spawn.. which is the same for about all lakes. As far as lakes go, its butt ugly.. but there are fish in it. I would check the water level every time before I went there.. it swings greatly because they sell the water to other locations. Otherwise, good luck and be careful.. trees in the water all over it.

At full pool like it is now, if you dont know where to run wide open and where not too, then its an easy lake to lose a lower unit on... not a big lake so once you know where to navigate and where not to its easy to run for the most part.

I'm convinced there's about 14 fish in it, but they're all full grown. Never caught numbers, but when you get bit, it's a good one.

This! I'm fairly confident I've caught the same 7 lber on on the same spot on 3 different trips throughout a year.

I haven't fished it in 15 years but it used to be an excellent big bite lake. Like previous poster said, it's all about structure. I've caught several 7's and 8's out of it and my pb came from it in 1990. 12.47 lbs.

Oh, and it's really, really good for a night bite!
