Fished on Davy Crockett lake for the first time today. It was very impressive to say the least. My partner and I boated 22 fish from daylight to 1:00 pm. Early fish came on baby brush hogs in green pumpkin fished split shot style on steep banks outside of the buggy whips. Around 11:00 am moved to some flats between 2 ft and 5 ft deep over coon tail moss and caught them on rattle traps ticking the grass. Rayburn red and silver blue back 1/2 oz. Biggest fish was 6lbs majority were between 3 lbs and 5 lbs only caught 2 dinks (under 2 lbs) all day. Needless to say we will go back. I have pictures but don't have a clue as to how to post them.

Great little lake, always make a trip or two out to Crocket and Coffee Mill. Thanks for the report!

Water was stained but not nearly as bad as Tawakoni. Only one boat on water when we got there and six when we left. At least two of the boats were crappie fishing.

I dont get why you go to a lake for the first time. And a small lake at that 355 acre lake . And have a good time . Then turn around at tell god and everybody about it do you like to go and have fun catching fish cause you just killed that lake a lot of people have know about it for years and have kept it a secret. To keep all the people from killing it. But sure you had to come along and run your mouth . Please learn to keep your mouth shut ..

First off you found something from like 2006 or when I first joined these forums and yes asked for some help and most would just pm you not set it out on the forums. Second most people pointed me in the direction of a guide which I took that advise and learned that lake. But this is plan lazy I get he had a great day and Im glad he did. But dont put it all out here for everybody to see. That lake is small and has always been used as a training lake for most peoples kids because you can catch fish easily. Now you can look and look all you want threw all my post on here I think its like 40 in 12 years . And you will not find me posting how when and what I was catching fish on. So ya to totally did things asking for help is one thing just setting it out there for a million plus people to read it totally diff

Fishing Forum- a social media platform for fisherman to talk about fishing but never say anything about what, where, and how they caught fish! Also a great site for lurkers with few posts to quietly absorb information and go potlicking!

Guys, its a fishing forum.... we talk fishing which includes talking about lakes and giving reports and such. If this is not your cup of tea or you feel inclined to talk noise about someone else sharing information there are plenty of other online forums out there to spend your time on.

Crocket is no secret, if you look at the link below, one of the "Day on the Water" segments was done there with Tommy Climer, it has OVER 40K VIEWS.
