Do the whites run up the Elm Fork of the Trinity on the North side of Lewisville? I've never done the run anywhere and I live in Prosper so I was wondering what the closest place to give it a shot was. Anything up around 380 and the Prosper/Little Elm area would be ideal.
Any tips from any of you guys on a spot to fish the run up in those areas would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you! DRY

Thanks Fishn. You have a suggestion on where it's best to get access to Doe Creek? I can find it on the map, but was just wondering if you knew of a good spot.

Just right there at 380 or at that power substation if you don't want to park on the highway. I usually park at the substation and walk back behind it and you will see a mowed trail that goes all the way back into the creek. There you will see what I call a little spill way. Fish that whole area and back to 380. There's a trail that leads all the way back to 380. You'll see it. It's a pretty easy walk. Good luck.

They do run up the River there, all the way to the Ray Roberts Dam. I have been hitting it at the Dam this week, and for some reason they are not there as of a couple days ago. Headed back today ... scouting ... scouting ...

Headed back today ... scouting ... scouting ... I've been doing the same at Denton Creek. The cold wet spring has them spread out this year. A few show up some days and gone (or lockjaw) the next. The same has been true of crappie on Ray Roberts. patiently waiting

This is a good thread. I've lived in LE a couple of years now and looked Doe Creek on Google Maps as well as driven around in that area but have not been able to figure out how to get to it.
It looks like there is a sidewalk on the West side of the bridge but you would probably only be able to park there when the businesses are closed.

Elm Fork between Lewisville and Ray Roberts has not produced a good run of whites or crappie in a while. All of the thick log jams have really screwed it up. You can try parking at the 380 bridge across from the closed park and hike it South. See if you can get closer to the mouth where it empties in to Lewisville. Take rubber boots as it is wetlands and it takes a long time to dry out. If you walk a wet bank, be prepared to sink in the silted mud. I have sunk to my hips before. Luckily I had a kayak paddle to help me out for leverage. Also be sure to spray yourself down with tick repellent. They get bad in there..
This place used to be my favorite to hike or kayak and fish. I have caught a lot of whites, huge hybrids and some beautiful black bass. Now I just take the kids out there to hook up with some big carp and buffs.

Thanks for all of the info guys. Unfortunately we had family stuff all weekend long and I wasn't able to head out there to check it out. I have the day off on Friday, so hopefully I can give it a shot then.
Anyone else tried it out in the last week or so?

Not saying there are no fish, but that place is NOTHING like it was prior to the flooding and log jams. The parking lot at the greenbelt used to be packed with fishermen. Now you will see maybe 5 vehicles parked by 380. Haven't seen anyone post a limit of whites out of there either.
