I noticed the lug nuts on one of my trailer tires was extremely hot today while I was removing the tire. The trailer had been sitting overnight before backing it down into the lake and then pulling it about 5 miles before pulling the tire off. I dont know what caused them to get so hot. Maybe the disc hydraulic brakes are tight? Is this a symptom of a hub bearing going bad? Any ideas?

Bad hub / bearings.
Or stuck caliper.
It will catastrophic fail on you at the worst time with no other warnings. Get new and replace those parts. You are lucky that you got that warning sign. Heed it. Fix it there where it sits.

Good to know. I was already looking at replacing the bearings. About those brake calipers, is there any adjustments on those? I really hope the brakes arent a problem as well.

Might check your breakaway ? If it is pulled could be holding pad in ?

No adjustment on the calipers.
