so don't go
some of us like to go for the fun of it.
some folks don't have to catch 8-9-10 pound fish to have a good time.
why is it that everyone thinks you have to catch a GIANT fish to have a good time ?

The 3 biggest fish (10-2, 9-15, and a 9-14) and the most numbers were caught on a shakey head when I went to Salto last month. Had several in the 8-9lb range also on shakey heads. I'm not saying that's what all the bigger fish were caught on, but most were.

Nice --- Thank You

I was at Picachos Feb 14-18 and we whacked 'em offshore. If you haven't seen it, check out Joe Cermele's Hook Shots video filmed that same week ---- rocking the fly rod

Have a buddy that just got back last week from both lakes. He said all the big fish that they caught came off XD10 crankbaits. Im headed to Comedero on Monday with Ron Speed so hopefully we will get into the big ones there.

We will be at Picachos on April 26-30. If anyone has any tips/pointers feel free to PM me. I am also curious if there is anything to do/see in the small town (Puerta de San Marcos) near there.

Not much to see or do In San Marcos.. Small village.. Nothing really historic there as it is a relatively new town.

I'm headed there on Monday.. Will give a full report when I get back..

Thanks! Are there any little restaurant/bars there at all? My FIL and I are going and we like local culture type stuff. Wanted to hang out with the locals if theres a watering hole in town.

I am headed down and 3/30 - 4/2 on a combo with Speed. Keep the reports coming and I will do the same.
As far as nightlife.....you are in the middle of nowhere and I would recommend not leaving the compound. Enjoy Mazatlan if you can.

Kind of an off beat question but are there any issues running a CPap machine at the lodges? We're looking at going to El Salto.

The electricity at all the camps I've been to is reliable and have regular outlets. Getting distilled water may be another thing.
