I got a letter in the mail the other day about recalling my shift actuator and it stated that my engine could fail. I called my local Mercury Dealer and they said the parts are back ordered. I was curious to see if anyone knows how long the back order on this part is.

Discouraging news. Wish all the manufacturers would test longer before bringing new product to the market.

They tested the motor for 8 years... simulated 8 years? Or a fleet of test motors were built in 2010 and have been in service for 8 years? HUGE difference.
