I have a 2017 Mercury Pro XS 2 stroke. I get a beeping alarm when I have been idling looking at my graph for more than a few minutes. The oil reservoir is full and just had a new impeller put in. Motor pees fine and none of the intake are blocked. My research said to try all that I just mentioned but still getting it. Usually when the alarm starts beeping, I put the engine in Neutral and it goes off. A sensor or Thermostat is my next guess. Anybody have similar experience or can you point me in the right direction? Thanks.

Last time mine did this it was the fuel/water separator. I changed it out myself and problem solved!

Had the same issue a couple of weeks ago. It was the sensor inside the remote oil tank (on the motor). You can unplug the two wires for the sensor, if it stops, then you know. Good luck.

Could be a couple of things oil tank float engine running cold at idle. you will only get one warning of six beeps which is a non critical warning during each key cycle. FYI if you ever get a solid 6 second warning that is a critical warning and will go into guardian depending on the the severity of the problem and it will pull out a percentage of power. If it is at idle I would suspect trash in the thermostats......OPTI

I have a solid beep on Optimax and no beep beep when I turn key to on. I guess the previous owner got tired of it so he just cut the beeper out. I reinstalled one. When I pulled the tan/blue wire on the tstat the beeping stopped. I heard that this was a common problem on Optimax's. After installing a new tstat I still have the beep so trying to figure out what to do next. Not having a warning system working right really annoys me.

The verdict was that there was debris that had worked its way up into the thermostat. Once that was cleaned out, it ran fine with no alarms
