I gotta get a anchor system. Does it matter which trolley set I buy? I see that some of them have a pulley system and some do not. What is the difference?

Pulley's make the system run a little smoother.
I prefer a system with pulleys and some shock cord. I have Hobie's kit on all 4 of my kayaks.

I have a Hobie lit on my PA12 because it fit the mounting holes etc. that are standard. On all of my other yaks I have the Capt. Dicks trolley kits but I am not sure he still makes them. Just be sure to get Harken roller pulleys and good cordage and you will be all set. This is the ones I have.

The pulleys make a big difference.
Unless your budget is super super tight, you want to get the ones with the rollers. HUGE difference.

Looking at something like this Yakattack trollReally easy install Nekro, i have the same yakattack leverlock anchor trolley and it is a breeze to install, Luther from Yakattack has some great step by step installation videos on youtube. I've added this system to two kayaks so far and it works great, especially with a stake out pole/mud anchor. Cordless drill, drill bits, hex key wrench, and some waterproof silicone was all i needed to get the job done. https://youtu.be/-UoXJ3QiNg8

Just dont use screws. There is a load on that part of your kayak. Bolt and nut whenever possible and last choice should be tri fold rivets, screws should never be a chioce i dont care what luther (yak attack) says.

Exactly, didn't feel too sure about the self tappers only so I ended up using well nuts, turned out great.

Some tell me stop being a [censored] lol Not sure if they still do it but a few years back I had ACK install my anchor trolley on my new kayak because I was also to scared to put the first hole in my kayak. Of course back then if you bought the anchor trolley from ACK they installed it for free so it was a double win for me. When I came time to install a second anchor trolley on the same kayak I had no problem with drilling the holes and installing it myself.

[Did you use a water sealant also? No I used well nuts to install the pulleys that were the same type of well nuts used by ACK. The pulley's sit so high on the side of the kayak that if the pulley's were underwater I would have more serious problems than worrying about any leakage from the trolley pulleys. If in doubt it would not hurt to also use sealant.
