Stopped at Blanco shoals on my way to the In-laws and managed this little Guad on a marabou olive/white clouser. My first Guadalupe bass on the fly. Also caught my first crappie on fly this past Saturday. Didnt get any pictures of them as I didnt feel like taking my phone with me on the kayak that day.

Congratulations! Guads are my favorite sub species of bass, they may not grow as big as largemouths but they punch way above their weight class. And sight casting to them in crystal clear central Texas rivers and creeks never gets old.

Water was a little cloudy, so I was just blind casting. I have caught them in the Colorado and Llano, but I never got around to fishing the Blanco while I lived in Austin. Have always wanted to start at the San Gabriel and fish my way south hitting the Colorado, Onion Creek, Blanco, San Marcos, Comal, Guadalupe, and Cibolo Creek, trying to catch a fish in each one inside of one day.
