Who makes a low ration casting reel today? All I can find are 7:1 to 10:1. I am looking for a 3.8:1 up to a 5:1. Want something to throw big deep diving cranks. Thanks

Old school Lew's BB1N was one of the best crank bait reels ever made. 4.9 ratio and casts a mile with almost no backlash. The earliest models were made by Shimano, and later by Ryobi. Quality is the same. You can find a clean one on Evil-Bay for less than $100. I think the U spool casts better than the V spool. Replace the original spool bearing with a ceramic bearing and you'll really be impressed.

the shimano E5, abu garica winch, and lews MB in 5 gear are all about as good as money can buy when it comes to cranking reels

Old School BB1, Daiwa TD-Z 100M, Shimano 200B5 or B38 for some older, reliable reels that won't break the bank in low ratios. Also the original BPS Pro Qualifier came in 4.7:1 as well.
Newer reels several offer 5.x ratios - Diawa Tatula, (Zillion and Steez from JDM Market as well), Shimano, Abu Winch, etc.

I use Revo Winch and also Lew's Super Duty 5.4:1 wide spool. Both are really good. Revo is a little more comfortable for me.
