A real good friend of mine and her husband just bought a nice place down there and moved down there. About 30 minutes south of San Jose. Looks really nice. Don't know what the guberment is like there. very american friendly, last I know of you only had to prove 20k income to retire there, gun ownership is legal, medical insurance is fairly cheap but buying up here is better (just have to be sure it covers you there), groceries and essentials are reasonable but gas is pricey. you can fish pacific and Caribbean oceans on the same day if the drive goes good. love it down there but can't afford a trip anymore.

I figured as much about gun ownership, these friends were on the same page regarding the 2nd. as I understood it you have to apply to the gov. for a permit but can own pretty much anything when approved, having a chl is supposed to be a huge plus.

I would say walking in the jungle alone to see a stupid waterfall was pretty foolish on our part but we lived and its a cool story. Still ain't going back though. Not without my .45 Glad you had a good time. Cool pics.
