 HDS Losing map while on plane

I am losing my map on my HDS while on plane. Dose not happen at speeds below about 40 MPH but once I hit 45+ it disappears for a few seconds and then begins to re-appear in segments but only for a short while and then disappears again. It is a HDS Gen 3. I have reset to factory default and performed the latest Lowrance upgrade but still have the issue. Any suggestions?

Not sure what gen it was, but my fishing buddy lost his the same way. Finally cut off and stayed off. I think he got a replacement from lowrance (an upgrade) for reduced price (don't quote me on that).

I had that problem on an Elite 7 HDI, but not on my HDS Gen 3s. What map card? Are you zoomed in really far?

I had that problem on an Elite 7 HDI, but not on my HDS Gen 3s. What map card? Are you zoomed in really far? Same problem with this unit. Only thing that helped was to turn off n avionics and run base map.

Isolate your HDS Gen 3 which has the Navionics map card by disconnecting all other input(Ethernet, Sonar, StructureScan, NMEA), then do a test run.
A faulty Ethernet can cause numerous problems.

My old gen one did that when I got too many waypoints in it.

Something you may try is change one of your settings.
Go to Settings, select SYSTEM, then select COORD. SYSTEM. and set it to Deg/Min/Sec.
This will give you a faster refresh rate on your map.
Taking 5 to the weigh-in occurs when opportunity meets successful execution of one's preparation.
