You can have a live well, can't have a bilge. I agree the rules are stupid.

Here's the actual rule from the website

4. Boat/Watercraft:
a. Allowable: A vessel that is considered to be a canoe, kayak, paddleboard or open hull type
boat.
b. Non-allowable: A vessel that contains a bilge, live well, bait well, raised floor or outboard motor. Any vessel
that has potential to transport concealed water.

It's a pretty good kayak fishing spot. Can't say how the bite is right now as I haven't been there for a while. Fish deeper water, and use fluoro since the water is usually quite clear. In the summer it will have thick weed growth along all the banks extending out to 15' depth or even more.

They let us in with a cooler converted as a livewell, as long as its a small open type vessel they'r not too picky. Your typical bass boat or bass tracker is a no go.

Anyone know if Bass Buster type two man boats are allowed? Technicaly they have a raised floor area creating a void between the floor and hull...but thats exactally the same construction as a kayak.

Yep, they're there and quite a few made it to my skillet.

Caught the first one on a drop shot of all things. Caught several on jerk baits and a couple on crank baits. There should be some giants in there by now if they escaped all the hungry fishermen! I caught a 5 lb largemouth, a small keeper smallie and a 4 lb walleye on the same day there, not many places in Texas you can do that.
