Spring break is here. Time to take the boys on a fishing trip. What lakes are fishing good right now? Was thinking to go to Falcon but with a super strong wind on Tue and then a north wind every day for the rest of the week I�ll pass

Where are you located? Might have some suggestions if you're close to East Texas.

San Antonio is a long drive to East Texas. I was going to help you out with Lake Welsh or Lake O' Pines, but perhaps someone can hook you up with something down there. The weather in East Texas is going to be bad all week here.

Fayette county.

You might consider Fayette. Been reading some very good reports the past couple of weeks.

If you're in SA hit up Medina. May not catch a donkey, but there's so many dinks.

I would fish Fayette as my first choice. Second would be Medina. As been stated above plenty of small ones. Third choice would be Dunlap in New Braunfels. What ever you decide to do best of luck. It's always great to see a post involving a dad taking his son's fishing.

Thx for suggestions. Like I said I don�t mind the drive as long as it�s worth it. We will b there for about 5 days so makes it even more worth it.

Is Dunlop even fishable right now? Haven�t heard good things about it lately.

Athens. Or any of the other small lakes around you. Especially if they have grass. Some are fishing off the chain and you won�t have to fight the crowds.

I did decent a weekend or two ago, nothing special but better than Medina as of recently.

Water is clear in most places and the current is strong. Did OK on Dunlap last week! Water temperature was 67 degrees. Right now Fayette is fishing better.

Lake Conroe gave up a Lunker Bass the other day...........13# plus So did Fork 13# Plus Both fish were held and off to Tx Marine Fisheries for breeding. Fish like this will be accepted there until March31st.

I'd pick your favorite lake with those conditions in mind and get after it.
