For those who have them do you like them? I have a Curado K and looking to adding another reel to the arsenal and the DC has caught my attention. Any feedback would be great and also what line do you all have on them. Not sure If I want to go straight braid with a fluoro leader or straight fluoro.

i don't know one curado from another, but i have several of the older ones and bought a newer one for my grandson last Christmas. all of them are excellent reels. a little TLC and a super tune will make em compete with anything on the market.

They are nice for certain situations and presentations. I really like them for skipping and flipping docks. Makes it a lot easier in my opinion. And I have another one for throwing square bills. Come in handy throwing smaller baits in windy conditions. But for me, I dont see much else I would prefer them for over a traditional Curado. I dont feel like I can get as much distance out of them as a traditional reel since you cant turn the braking completely off.

You can still backlash them and distance it's not the reel for distance. Good for fishing docks and in the wind with some baits.
Thank you, Shawn Smith

With DC, same as the Daiwa SV concept, you will give up a bit of casting distance to gain more control over casting. In Daiwa's world, SV is great for skipping, beginners, windy days, super light baits, etc but for typical casting techniques I don't like it. I have SV reels on my pitching/skipping setups, but not on anything else. Crankbaits, Spinnerbaits, Chatterbaits, Swimbaits, Carolina Rig, etc I'd prefer to have the distance over the over-braked spool control and stick with traditional spools.

I picked up a Curado DC to go on a new rod and to try with the skipping casts.
I have a couple Curado K's for a long range casting.

Strange that people are talking about giving up distance. That has not been the case for me at all. My DC casts the furthest of all the reels that I own. I would have them on every setup I have if I could afford it.

The only exception is for really light presentations (under 3/8-oz), where I can usually get more distance on my Aldebaran.

Been out a couple times with the DC and loving it, it has outcast my Curado K and Lews speed spool. It has me wanting to sell my Lews and get another DC.
