I have a 12' lowrance hds gen 2 with a point one GPS antenna. When I'm ruuning down the lake the cursor is not pointing north. Its pointing to the side and starts going circles. It's still recording my trail but does any one how to fix it? Thanks

Have you tried a hard reset?

Or disconnect Point1 to see if it is the problem?

I did the hard reset, and it didn't fix anything. I'm going to disconnect the antenna. Hopefully that will work. Thanks

Its mounted in the back of the boat near the motor. There's a spot on the hull just for that. What a RTM?

I have a 12 HDS Gen 3. Have the same problem. Only occurs when at higher speeds. Did an internet search, and read several posts on other forums. This appears to be a common problem with no fix. Its not the point one, or interference. I think it is a problem with software. I never had a problem until I installed the fish reveal update. I dont have the software version prior to the fish reveal update to revert back to in order to see if it was indeed the fish reveal update, and Lowrance has taken it off their site. One thing I have done is put that unit on local GPS and heading sensor to POINT. I havent been on the water to see if those settings help. When I get a chance I will post an update.

Thanks! Disconnected the antenna and changed some settings, I'm going off in the morning and hopefully that worked.

Funny my graphs have been the exact same way for years and with the exception of a brand new battery nothing has changed on my setup. Yesterday my cursor, for the first time in 4 years of having a point 1, pointed sideways while running. I must have introduced some electrical interference with the way the new battery is hooked up or my point1 could be going out.

Mine started like that about a month ago. I did a hard rest and it didn't do it again until now. I think the point 1 is going out.

Have you calibrated the Point 1 antenna?

YES, Did it twice just to be obsessive compulsive.
Got the 6.0 software but have not had a chance to revert back. With so many people having this issue, I cant see it being anything but a software glitch. If it is a bad antennae, then Lowrance should recall them all as being a bad batch.

I switched my console graph from having a point 1 "heading extension" to having a "course extension" in the settings. Stays straight now when moving. I don't really need the point 1 direction on the console graph.
