First boat was a 16-17 ft “tri hull” A little chop on the water you was in for a rough ride and wet. Had it for several years, motor was great. Worst riding boat I’ve had, lol
Skeeter/Yamaha and Love to feel something on the other end!! Lol

My uncle had a 13.5' Boston Whaler with a 40 Johnson , it had a tall center console , he set it up to salmon fish out Santa Cruz Ca. ( it had 2 huge down riggers that could use 10lb weights ) . He was afraid of the water , didn't believe in life jackets --- and he couldn't swim . We would go out 8-10 miles offshore in 10 foot swells. Probably the scariest and dumbest thing I ever did ( I was 12 yrs old ) . His only form of safety was a CB radio ---- I HATED THAT BOAT .

21’ Hawk. It was under powered but I knew that going in so that’s on me. Electrical issues non stop. The worst was any time it rained every dry box was soping wet. Got tired of cleaning moldy compartments.

07 bass cat, spent more time at the bass cat factory than on the lake. Glad they bought it back Never....ever...heard that before. Sometimes I wonder if we just expect a boat & all it's parts to last forever. I'm a firm believer that if you are not at least a little handy, and fairly observant, you should not own a bass boat. And yes, I know a few who don't qualify. What? It was 4 years old. All boat manufacturers make mistakes sometimes

I just have not found that boat, been in Nitros since 1999, before that Champions, Had more issues with the Champions. But I still liked them.
I agree when I hear how some depend on a dealer to fix small issues I just shake my head. Boat ownership can be rougher on some.

In 1997 I let a friend of mine who was a Sprint dealer talk me into ordering a new 20' Sprint with a 225 high performance Mariner. Within 6 months the hull delaminated and the gel coat peeled off from in front of the console all the way to the transom and the full width of the boat. Sprint would not stand behind their product and my insurance wouldn't cover because there was no impact. I had to eat it. In 1998 I bought a new BassCat Jaguare and put the Mariner on it and ran it for 13 years. Took the Sprint to the landfill in Alba.

It was the roughest riding wettest sob I’ve ever rode in. They brought it back to the factory and come to find out some how someone sprayed 400lbs too much glass on the rear of the hull. Have to give Randy Qualls props, he made it right and delivered him a new 2017 v20.

Wouldn’t say I hated it but a Nitro 170 was my least favorite

One of the many V20, V21 issues that sunk the company

I bought an older Nitro, 200 Merc EFI, spent $2000 with local idiot “mechanics” to remove oil injection and get running smoothly. 5 mins after getting it back and going across the water, it locks up. Take it to Troy at TS Perf. marine for rebuild. 2 months later get it back, break it in exactly as instructed. 4 months later motor locks up AGAIN! Take it back under warranty, 6 months later go pick it up not running, take it to a REAL mechanic, get it running right, sold it for $8000 loss... was glad to see it leave!

Boat I like the least is current Basscat Pantera Classic. Rides rougher than a hogs azz. Compartment latches are horrible. Livewell pumps had to be redone to keep fish alive. Seven control touch pads put in it. 200 Opitmax had, bad lower unit, blown compressor, bad ignition coil, bad fuel pump. I will probably have the dern thing forever. It is a solid built boat.
Best ever was Champion 181. I loved that boat. Great ride. No issues. 150 Faststrike was flawless.

Buddy had an 18ft ray craft that would beat your guts in with a 5mph wind. I hated that thing My first boat was a 16' Ray Craft with a 90 horse Evinrude and boy did it make me appreciative when I sold it for a 20' Cobra. I'm certain that little boat made me a better boater

had a 17 ft Allisoncraft that was rated for a 115 hp and I had a 150 merc with chopper prop on it....didn't have GPS back then but boat probably ran in low 70's and it was a handful to drive...it would beat you to death in any kind of rough water, front end was so light any puff of wind would blow you around...only an 18 gallon gas tank so you couldn't go far ...12 volt trolling motor was never adequate with any wind....only thing I liked about that boat was running it up on the pad on a calm day....
