For anyone that may be in the market for a new Navionics card, upgrade an old mapping card or switch brands completely, Navionics has introduced a new "Trade-In" program to help save some money when doing so. It is similar to the old program from years ago, but now will work with any brand card when trading in. Check out the link below for me details: Navionics "Trade-In" RebateRebate Amount $ 75 Navionics+, Platinum+,HotMaps Platinum $ 50 Navionics+ Regions

Thanks Debra for correcting the link. I'm not sure what happened there.

No problem, it is a pretty easy process to "trade-in", then you will receive a check in the mail from Navionics for the rebate amount.

What is the difference between the Navionics Platinum and the C-map?

That link is useless. It leads to a full page with now way to scroll. I hope their products work better than their web page.

I had to shrink the page down to 50% size to be able to see the entire page and the navigation buttons near the bottom. Same deal using another PC using either Internet Explorer or Chrome.
Finally got the new card ordered. It's an entirely new card, not an online update of my existing card. My old card had a few days remaining before expiration, and after I received and activated the new card I tried to make a final update to the unexpired old card, and Navionics wouldn't let me update it, saying I had made a recent update just a few days ago, and that was no longer eligible, even though I had just activated the new card. That sucks, as I wanted to re designate the old card to use it in a different unit (Lowrance Elite 4 instead of the Hook 4 in which it was already working). I wanted to use the slightly outdated card in my backup unit (Elite 4) but it won't even read the card being present. I guess that's because it was set up for Hook 4 at last update. I wish I had known that so I could have reset the old card to work with the Elite 4 before ordering the new card. They sure didn't make that clear. Card is for South USA.

Sounds like we may be talking about 2 different programs here. The link I posted above was for a "trade-in" program which would be where you do receive a brand new card if you had an old card that was not update able online or if you had a different brand with an opportunity to save some money, but requires you to send in the old card after purchase to get the rebate check in the mail. The update online program is completely different. If your card was still eligible for an online update, within the 1 year that you receive when buying a new card, there is no reason you should not of been able to update the card. It is completely stand alone from the new card you just bought, as far as that goes, you could update a card every day if it is eligible. I have 6-8 different cards that I keep up to date and they are all completely stand alone, updating 1 of them does not affect me trying to update another and vise versa. What exact card is it that you are trying to use in the Hook 4?IF it is a platinum card, then it is not compatible with a hook 4 and will not work as it is too much data for the processor of that unit. Let me know, I will help any way I can.

Check out the link below for me details: Navionics "Trade-In" RebateFYI for anyone with an HDS gen 3 that is preloaded with the C map and purchases a new HotMaps Platinum card: this rebate program does not apply because you have no 'old' or previous card to send in as required by the rebate program . Rebate Amount $ 75 Navionics+, Platinum+,HotMaps Platinum $ 50 Navionics+ Regions
