Just curious how many out there use 360 imaging for whites and striper. I just added this to my boat in hopes easing up on fish after finding them with side scan. This way I would not have to drive over the fish and toss out a marker. I have only been on the water with it twice now with the 360 and the fish were holding so close to the bottom I couldnt see them at all on the 360. The fish were there because I caught them. They were so tight to the bottom my 2d didnt even see them only down scam. Anyway I am just hoping someone has some experience with the 360 and can tell me that I didnt wast a TON of money. Thanks

Thanks My opinion is if they're in 20 foot or deeper, you won't scare them driving over them. I thump and make all sorts of noise when over whites to attract them. I've not interviewed any whites to confirm or deny this opinion Tim

I wish you would have asked before you bought it brother. I had 360 on my boat for a few years and honestly got to where I didn't use it because it just wasn't nearly as clear of an image as I expected. The idea of it seems amazing but I feel like the technology needs to come a lot further to make it a clearer and more useful image. Hopefully they can implement their mega imaging technology and a faster refresh rate and make it a more "live" technology with clearer images which is what it would need to be useful to me and was what I was hoping for to begin with. When I went with guide Bob Maindelle, he said that was his experience as well and he ditched the 360 long ago for these same issues I found out myself. You may enjoy it but I just don't think it is very helpful as it is right now unfortunately. If you find bottom hugging whites or hybrids they will stay put long enough for you to drop a waypoint on them, spot lock over them and slab for them or whatever you want to do. Sorry to say, but I hope you find the 360 more useful then I did : /
I think the garmen livescope on a swivel mount would be the most helpful addition to your standard fish finder and do what you are wanting more than the 360 unit will...but everyone has an opinion right? lol

Thanks The 360 is Side Imaging that rotates. If you don't see fish on the bottom with Side Imaging, Down Imaging or 2D sonar, you won't see them with 360 either. The 360 image is not as sharp as Side Imaging since the scan rate is different as the distance from the transducer changes (the wheel effect) or fastest at the outer edge and slowest in the center. Give the 360 a chance. Some of the striper chasers I have talked to who have it say they would not fish without it. They tell me it works really great when chasing schools of fish in the warmer months when the fish are really moving fast. For me I still like 2d sonar for finding and pulling fish off the bottom ![[Linked Image]](https://texasfishingforum.com/forums/pics/userpics/2019/03/full-77369-4506-snp0302193729.jpg)

I have not given up on it yet like I said I only have 2 short trips with it so far. I did go up in about 6 feet of water with it just playing around and from there I dont see why every bass fisherman doesnt have it. 360 is pretty awesome in shallow water. I just hope it pays off in deeper water. The fish I caught the other gay were small 7 to 10 inch whites hugging the bottom of about30 feet of water. It is pretty amazing that any technology can pick that up... we are all spoiled. Haha

![[Linked Image]](https://texasfishingforum.com/forums/pics/userpics/2019/03/full-12544-4566-img_6600.png) It will definitely be of use for you. I loved mine for hybrids and white bass back when we had good numbers of them on palestine. Always seemed you could graph big numbers on side imaging but by the time you hit spot lock and turned around you were lucky to catch more than just a couple. With the 360 it was possible to see them before ever running over them with the big motor and had many epic trips picking them off the edge of the school with big swim baits. Above pic was from one of those trips. Hopefully we don't have any more spring time floods or post spawn fish kills and those days will come back around. Admittedly though, it would be much more useful with a faster refresh rate. Also today if I had to choose 360 or Livescope (after only owning Livescope for a week) I would take the LS in a heartbeat.

I think I saw it was working that day, Martin. He could literally tell me what direction to cast. In the hands of someone that knows how to use it, its deadly!. Have fun learning, fish will eventually quit hugging the bottom.

The pics above are what I am hoping for. I think the problem I have been having was the fish being so close to the bottom and very small fish
