I have never trolled for Striper before. What kind of lures do you use, how do you troll (distance behind boat and speed and do you use downriggers? If you don�t mind sharing...

I do not use downriggers. I was fishing a drop off that went from 20 to 50 feet. I was using. rapala DT 16 in disco shad color. All the fish hit at the 20 foot depth. There were fish at 30 foot down in the 50 but I was after the more active ones feeding in the lip. That bait was bumping the rocks as I use 12 pound mono and let out eneougb line to let it get down to 20. I would say I had abou 100 foot out. I have found striper seem to like 3.5- 4.0 even when it�s cold. Water was 44 degrees. Use as pretty lite drag so the hooks won�t pull.
I have always done best with a bait that matches an actual age. And Rapala out dishes all other Kurds I have tried.

It�s also a great way to scan an area quickly for schools and active fish/bait. Now this area I fish is money 90 % of the time. If they are not biting here. Then it�s dead. Go catfishing
