Anyone ventured out to Tejas Park this season to give the white a try? There were lots of cars out there last Sunday but I couldn't see anyone fishing from the bridge.

I was trolling the area from Russell Park to the beginning of the trees at the river channel. All I could manage to catch were these skinny bass. Lots of fish on the fish finder but not many takers. This new cold snap will make it tuff until we can get some sunshine back on the lake. Water temp yesterday was 58-60. It will happen any time now.

If sunshine is what we need, then this weekend should be really good! Fingers crossed.

Went out yesterday morning around 08:30, walked the south side of the river all the way down to the old bridge. Didnt see a single fish the whole time. Still a bit too cold. I bet they make their run in another 7-14 days. Looks like we will have mid 60s/70s coming up.

Went to Tejas on Sunday, fairly early in the morning. Went all the way from the camp down to Box crossing. Most of the water was crystal clear, so I saw plenty of whites, most of them cruising in the company of carp and suckers. I swear that I saw some of them feeding off the bottom, as if they had Stockholm syndrome.
I caught one average sized male on a roadrunner that I dropped into a hole where he couldn't see me. Otherwise I threw the whole tackle box at them, and couldn't get them interested in anything. I also didn't see anyone else catch anything.

Ive been out 2 of the last 3 days. Walking up to about 2 miles downstream from Tejas. Still not much going on. Ive seen a ton of carp. Yesterday I saw two whites, most likely males but I wasnt fishing, just walking with family. Went out today and didnt see anything down by the old bridge. This little cold front probably messed with the run after a few days of 70s and seeing some whites in the river, back to nothing today. Maybe after another week of warmer weather it will be on.

Went out in my fishing boat today for several hours near Tejas. The water level wont permit access to the old bridge, which is surprising after all the rain weve had. We trolled back and forth with our lures and patterns that have worked well in prior years. Not a single white. We only caught 2 largemouths. The whole time I only saw one white caught by a bank fly fisher. This weather is screwed up. Methinks there might not be a normal run this year. The full volume of whites which normally run over 1 week might spread out over 5 weeks and not produce any bag limits. Maybe theres guys killing it who arent talking but I sure havent seen them. The lady at the Cedar Breaks park office told me that all the reports have been bad. Sucks. Oh well.

Went out again this morning. Walked the bank down to the bend by the mouth. Saw groups of 2, 6, or 8 whites mostly upstream from the box crossing. They had zero interest in anything we threw. Saw two getting after it at one point, so at least those two were spawning. All the carp from last week were nowhere to be found. A few days ago, a boater told me he caught 40 in 3 hours a few days back but who knows if he did or not. I certainly havent seen any whites interested in what Ive thrown. (Rooster tails, swim baits, spinners, crank, jigs)
Ive heard stories of people tearing it up but I guess your timing has to be exact and a little bit of luck.

The more I fish, the more I trust what I actually see with my eyes and people I see fishing while Im on the water. The fact that I trolled near Tejas for 4 hours without a single white means either the run hasnt started yet or its not gonna happen this year at Tejas.

I dont disagree with that. Been out quite a few times already and have had zero bites even when seeing them. Why would it not happen though? Weather?
