Wanted to make a post and maybe get some insight from some electronics guys. Looking to add a 12" unit to my boat within the next few months. The HDS Live and Solix G2 are very new to the market and I cant find many resources on either of them as far as performance on the water so I figured I would ask on the forum to maybe get some feedback on either unit. PRO's and CON's of either units, anything helps! It will be on the console so connectivity to trolling motor isn't in the picture! Just want to try to find a reason to get one versus the other. I'm still straddling the fence also, before I lay the money down on 2-12" units I want to make sure I get the best unit for the money

Personally.... I'd look long and hard at the HB simply for the mapping quality over what Lowrance has to offer....
It's not what a man knows that bothers me. It's what a man "KNOWS" that ain't necessairly so that has me conserned.

It totally depends on what you want or how in depth your wanting to get. I would go to BBC and check the bird and lowrance forums. There is a lot of info there.

But isn't lowrance releasing a live video type imaging like garmin live scope, but Hummingbird is the only one that doesn't have that.....yet.
I'm waiting to see what Hummingbird comes up with there first.

My 2019 Ranger 521C came with HDS live units that I played around with waiting for my Solix 15 G2 to arrive. The lowrance HDS live is a great chartplotter, but in my opinion, I prefer the Solix any day over the HDS live. The picture quality on down and side scan is amazing the the ease of use to me is a lot better on the Solix. Feel free to shoot me a PM if you have any specific questions comparing the two.
