I was using 4 lb mono Ande Tournament Green over the weekend and lost several good crappies due to breaking off while lifting the fish over the boat rail. I suspected that the line got weak due to catching several sand bass from time to time. I would peel off a few I was thinking about going to 6 lb mono so I was wondering what is your favorite pound test line and brand for jigging 1/8 to 3/16 jig heads.

Thanks for your input.

Berkley Trilene XL ..... I have already said several times:

I have seen/caught fish using a welding rod on the end of my line, and I have seen the time 6# test caught fish and 12# hardly ever got a hit ..... I don't want a bright colored flashy line on that one trip where they want clear 6#

The driving force and secret desire of every bass fisherman, is to one day be a crappie fisherman............Could it be that the good Lord just smilies and looks the other way when a fisherman tells a lie?

Don't get caught up in all the hype. There is maybe.....1% difference in this dudes 6# and that guys 6# and the hot chicks who never fished 6#. Decide if you want clear or high viz...I like high viz as crappie are not near the line watchers as bass. Then see whats on sale. There are things you can/should do to the line to make it loose almost all its memory then put it on right.
