I would like to get a good speckled trout fishing rod for my Father as a gift. Does anyone have any good suggestions? I’m looking for the following features:
- Less than $150 - 7 ft or more - Medium to Light action - Ideal for fishing soft plastics for speckled trout - Traditional instead of a skeleton frame - Lifetime warranty (this is negotiable)
Look forward to seeing what eveyone has to say!

St. Croix has some for around that price at BPS that are really nice. Not sure how much Castaway and Waterloo Rods run for but I've heard they work awesome.

I am curious to hear if anyone does know of any good lifetime warranty inshore rods. I got a free $60 All-Star Rod from a buddy so I imagine I'll invest in one eventually! I do love the Lew's Custom inshore reel (white and blue one), it was $200 so pair that with a nice rod and I think I'd be set!

Falcon Rods has the coastal and low rider models that have a great action for inshore fishing and are in your price range of $150 or less. I think the warranty is 5 years for those models. Most of the lifetime warranty rods that I have seen are in the $300+ range. I have a medium fast action Coastal model that is my go to rod for trout. For lifetime warranty rod, I would look at Waterloo HP lite. I have a friend that uses a Waterloo HP lite for everything from crappie to redfish.

7ft ML BC rod (An Ugly Stick) with at least a 10" handle. Fair price, way below the $150 cost, and will last for years. Great warranty.

I just purchased 4 new Rods from SixGill, Myakka 7'2" ML and M in both Spinning and Bait Cast. I will be on Sabine Lake this weekend running popping cork with DOA shrimp behind the M and 1/8 to 1/4 oz jig head with soft plastic behind the ML. I let you know how they do. I seen quite a few reviews of rods and have been quite happy with what I have come across. Note I got my rods on BOGO so 1/2 price per rod. They run sales quite often so just have to check weekly. I also purchased Reels a Banshee 7.1:1 3000 (M rod) and 2000 (ML rod) and Hyperions 7.0:1. Will string up 15lb braid.
I had to date been using a mash up of Ugly Sticks, OMEN Black, BassPro GoldCup. If I end up liking the SixGill I will start replacing the old rods most of which were M or MH.

I really like the micro guides on that Six Gill. Does anyone have any other suggestions for good speckled trout rods with micro guides?

Academy's "Bone Daddy" rods are legit af for $100. Nice guides, winn grips and the blank is solid. Perfect for trout with wnough backbone to land a bull red if needed.
