With warm winter temperatures in the mid 70's and no wind myself and Rick aka Catyakker headed south and fished a nice creek. The creek is in great condition with plenty of clear blue water and nice Hydrilla Beds. The creek also had a good current. We fished from 10am till 2pm and caught about 40 fish. Bluegill,Redear,Large Mouth Bass,Guadalupe Bass, and a couple of Rios rounded out the catch. Fish were located by the Hydrilla Beds and on drop offs by deeper pools of water. All fish were caught on worms using drop shot techniques, bottom techniques, and slip float techniques. All fish were released. After a day of fishing we stopped at Sammy's Restaurant in Castroville for a late breakfast. Getting in on a good pre front winter bite. It just don't get any better! fish

Thanks Yesenia for the reply! Water bodies are in great shape. If there is no more flooding this year is going to be great! thumb

Banker...Really nice looking "secret honey hole" ...Yep...you gotta love the pre-front bite. I really wasn't expecting much at Fayette yesterday, but a nice warm day before a major front had the bass really excited. I drove down to check out Dunlap today at the ramp & the water was really hummin along about as fast as I have ever seen it there. If we get major rain this spring we are in trouble...

Thanks Steve for the reply and thanks for the Dunlap Ramp update. You are right about any major rain this upcoming spring. The ground is already very saturated meaning a lot more runoff going into the water bodies. Just like the MAJOR FLOODING that had occurred this past October. That killed the fall bite on a lot of water bodies throughout the State! taz

What a great looking place!! And the fish look even better! I hope they stop the flow or slow it down soon on Lake Georgetown! BAF, do you buy the worms or do you raise them?

Thanks ifishlbj for the reply! cheers I buy all my worms from Walmart. Great quality and they last. I keep the cartons in my refrigerator in the Lettuce Box. When I am fishing they are in my Playmate under a Coleman Ice Cube. thumb

Sure appreciate the opportunity to get to fish with Banker again. He sure knows some super fishing holes. After a 4 day stay in the hospital, and on medical house arrest since early December with recurring Pneumonia, sick it was great to be able to get out again. Yep, them Walmart worms last longer then I would have ever thought. Worms I used the other day were purchased 24 Nov and they still wiggled real good. wink
