Have a '98 Ram 1500, tires now on: 265 75r 16
a chance to replace with 275 60r 20
will this work ? Problems ?

You would be going from 31.6" tire to a 33" tall tire. Probably ok but your speedo will be off some and overall power to the ground down slightly.

If you are measuring MPGs you will have to adjust for the larger diameter. Another thing to consider is the 20s will most likely ride rougher due to less sidewall. Also if you use the truck in rocky areas you run a higher risk of rim damage. When I bought my Tundra I swore I would never have anything large than 18s on a 4x4. I ended up with 20s because they came with BFG KO2s versus basically an all season on the 18s. Tires were more important to me than rim size. So far no problems on the ranch. When the KO2s wear out I will be getting tires with more sidewall for sure.
