With the bass pro sale going it got me thinking about updating my graphs. Im currently running HDS 9s on the front and back with a thru hull and a lss2 for the console and the hd transducer at the trolling motor.

I was playing with the garmin at bass pro and I didnt realize it was touch screen, chirp, si/di and very affordable!

What am I missing here guys? What are the pros and cons?

I know the garmin cant run navionics.

Can I run a thru Hull transducer and the SI/DI transducer with the garmin? I like to be able to read bottom while on plane.

Any opinions welcome. Thanks.

Yes, you can run both transducers.

Pretty sure Garmin will fix the Navionics issue since they own them.

Just bought a new to me Skeeter and I am going with a striker 7 on front networked with a ECHOMAP 94sv at console. Striker has a lot of features but affordable, no card reader. But networked with the ECHOMAP it pretty much mirrors. And if I ever want to I believe I can by the panoptix module and transducer and go that route.

I just put a 93sv on plus livescope, replacling a Lowrance up front, I still have an HDS 9 gen 3 at the console, but....that will soon be Garminized. Long and short of it is the Garmin is VERY user friendly, crystal clear, more options, and I have more detail on the 3 lakes I've been on with the internal Garmin mapping than I had with my Lowrance with the Navionics chip.

PLUS, like P102 mentioned, if you still want Navionics in your unit, it's coming soon. Garmin bought Navionics as a big middle finger to Lowrance because Lowarance was trying to keep Garmin out of the freshwater electronics market. SO....all things being equal, I wouldn't hesitate to put the 93sv on your boat.

Not to hijack, But how does your Lowrance shoot thru hull transducer do on plane? Do you lose the bottom? Is it worse in rough water? I'm just curious. I run Garmin units. I'm good in smooth water but the bottom
fades in rough water about 50MPH

I love my 93s, but without the HD module, the picture quality doesnt touch a Lowrance or HB.
