Like Roller said, and I'm a 100% believer in it, if you feel it coming on, drink some organic black cherry juice. I have 2 bottles on stand by and twice now I've felt it coming on and drank half a bottle of that juice and it went away.

The flight this morning made it worse. I had to stand for 2 of the 2.5 hours. I literally cannot sit for any period of time. Its even starting to hurt in my hip from that ligament outside the knee and being connected.

I bit the bullet and went to an Urgent Care for some Prednisone but those DANG PANZIES wouldn't prescribe any hydro to help with the pain, I'm not a freakin junkie but dam man, cmon. Nothing over the counter is helping mask it....Only getting my mind off it by posting sympathy posts on TFF helps.....Misery loves company right....

And I'm even wearing those sexy compression socks Grandpa used to swear by....Trying everything this time around. Its the worst one yet out of probably 30 or so moderate attacks over the years. Back on the Alipurinol meds as soon as this one is over, I am done.

I had it in my knee one time and it was just a minor flare up, I cannot imagine what you are going through, actually I guess I can, go to the doc asap, I would get me some colchicine right now, I would pay 100 dollars a pill, you will need about 2 or 3 to start getting relief, whatever you do do not start taking that stuff before a flight, it could get really interesting.

Anything ending with itis is not to good to very bad. You in fact have itis of the bursa.

Those jackasses at the urgent cares and ERs are just overboard with the "opioid crisis" [censored]......in July I went to an ER with severe pain from gout. They wouldn't give me diddly for pain and I told them I already had Hydrocodone 10 but it wasn't getting the job done. My blood pressure was 287/183....and they let me go with a blood pressure that high and about to have a freaking stroke. Sorry to hear about your pain. I definitely know how it is. Hope you find some relief soon.

Is the pain bad enough to stop in Oklahoma and get The Jesus Shot?

I have gout and last august had the worst flare up of all time. hit my left foot and right knee. Thankfully not at the same time. I know your pain with the knee. mine was so bad that when I bent my knee to get out of bed I tore the ligament loose from my patella. Wife had to help me dress. I lost 15 pounds because all I could do was lay there. barely ate anything for 14 days.

I do not take any medicine, and here is my fix.

Sodium Citrate.

1 Tbl baking soda
2 tablespoons lemon juice
,mix until it no longer foams
mix with 8 oz of water and chug it.
tastes terrible but helps relieve the swelling and the fluid
Do not exceed more than 2 Tbl of Baking soda per 24 hour period. IF you have high blood pressure - be careful taking this. Soda will raise your blood pressure.

Ice your knee - 20 minutes on top and 20 from the underside. It helps.

My trigger was beer and wine. Liquer doesn't effect me. Haven't had a beer since last August and no flare ups.

I have tried all the home remedies, never helped me, best thing is to get on the meds so you do not have to use remedies to get it to go away.

It's getting to the point where anyone in severe pain will be hospitalized and pain management will be overseen by health care "professionals".
In the long run the drug makers won't lose any money because they'll be shielded from prosecution because the powerful class 1 narcotics will only be available from and administered by the health care industry via hospitalization.
