The IRS filed a $50000.00 lien on my house in 2014. The name is similar to mine, but obviously not me. Some overpaid clerk nonchalantly did this. The department that handles this just says sorry we cant nswer you call were just too busy. They want a form filled out that requests information about the deabbeat that I couldnt possibly know. Nobody is responsible nobody is accountable.

Call your US Rep and both your US Senators. Tell them that your vote is directly tied to them helping you get this resolved.

Call your US Rep and both your US Senators. Tell them that your vote is directly tied to them helping you get this resolved. Absolutely good advice!

I keep getting penalized for claiming a kid that my wife is the legal guardian of. That I've been taking care of for almost four years now. Even after proving she lives under our roof. So I somewhat feel your pain. Just in a different way.

The Nextdoor app people would suggest that you immediately contact channel 5 about this. No matter where you live, find a channel 5 station and loop them in.

I dont routinely check to see if liens are on my house. The lien was filed randomly and arbitrarily by The IRS. I have not knowledge of the person owing the money. The house is free and clear, and this came up when a title company searched as part of a line of credit title search. There no one to call there is no accountability. You do know anyone at anytime can file a lien on your house without your knowledge all they need is you legal description which is public info.

How much does the overpaid clerk make? Search GS 12 under federal pay scales and add gold plated retirement and 48 days of vacation and the inability to get fired no matter what you do. Hell it might have even been a GS 15.
