I LOVE TO FISH CEDAR BAYOU FOR REDS AN JACK FISH IN THE FALL. HOWEVER I WILL BE IN A WORK TOURNAMENT ON JUNE 9TH AND I HAVE SOME SURF QUESTIONS. AT THE BAYOU I HAVE HAD LARGE SHARK EAT MY JACK FISH BEFORE I GET THEM IN SEVERAL TIMES. SO I WENT TO BASS PRO SHOP AND BOUGHT A OCEAN MASTER CAPE POINT 12 FOOT ROD WITH A OCEAN MASTER SPINNING REEL. WHAT IS THE BEST BAIT IN THE SUMMER FOR SHARK AND HOW IS THE SURF FOR REDS AND TROUT IN THE SUMMER AT THE BAYOU?

Years ago, before the bayou got all silted up, that place was THE spot for us. Everytime you went there, it was pretty much a guarenteed success on reds, trout, and flounder. Hopefully they'll get the bayou cleaned out this summer, and it will return to its former glory. As for shark baits, I'd really just go with anything fresh and bloody, like a fresh cut mullet, that will be SURE to get those sharks attention. Make sure you get that blood though cuz thats what really attracts the sharks. GOOD LUCK! P.S. One time I was fishing near there and almost had a shark eat my trout of my line! One of the most frightening experiences I've had.

Thanks I hope to get a few large shark this trip. We always seem to have good luck with reds and jacks. I will try some rays we catch a ton of them also.
