Thanks amigo!! This looks interesting......should I go this route?

I would. i have five homes i have done total drip irrigation. They only have to water once every other week because the water is delivered at the roots and wont evaporate. I would use the 12/9 which means the drippers are 12 inches apart and uses 90 gallons per hour per hundred feet. You need to put the drip 12 inches apart.. I dont know what type of soil you have,, but you can look on there chart to see what is recommenced for your soil type,

My advice, hire Bruce to install it. It is worth every penny as most really good sprinkler guys will come back as often as needed to make adjustments.

Retirement best job ever.

Honestly Bruce has told me the same thing about the drip but I think I would still go the conventional sprinkler route at least for the main lawn area. Or at least if I was thinking full drip system I would want to talk with someone who had had one for years. I would think the install for drip would be higher but that is just a guess.

Most important part is that double check valve first. Don't want to be contaminating the water service.

Strongly recommend Bruce also. Hes been in the business forever and his knowledge is spot on. Best money I spent on my old house was having Bruce install my sprinkler set up. You being a mechanical guy you will appreciate the perfection in which he executes his craft. It was really neat to watch all the sprinkler heads water so efficient and not see any waste. Eventually Ill have him redo the setup at the new house. Loved the drip hose system he installed.

You can do it yourself. just take your time and make sure to use staples on the drip about every three feet.
Take a five gallon bucket ,, turn on hose and time how long it takes to fill it. that will give you the gallons per minute. That will help you determine how many feet you can run on one zone.
I have a home in southlake that is two acres. all under drip. They pay a 75 dollar a month water bill and have the healthiness looking lawn. We actually cheated on that one. When the builder was grading we had the m take the top soil and put aside. We laid out the drip and covered it with the soil and laid the sod.

Great idea, Im going to look into that for my new pad Im building. I can say, I went to drip in my garden, and it was never better before I started using it.

Seems like the smart thing to do. I think I'm going to try it.
