Rubbing compound (you can get it at the auto parts store), a rotary buffer, and a lot of elbow grease is probably what you can try. Keep in mind that on an old boat, the gel coat might be so oxidized that it is beyond saving with polishing.

You can try lots of miracle polishes and waxes and they can help, but if it's bad wet sanding would be in order then polish, wax etc. And as stated above get power tools, low-speed polisher (Harbor Freight is fine Harbor Freight) But get 3M dish and chemicals for the best result

I did my triton this time last year. I would try buffing with something aggressive. I used Aqua buff 1000 on a wool pad then 2000 on a wool pad and then Maquires on a polishing pad. Finished with a coat of wax. Its a little messy and time consuming but not really not that bad.

I have had very good success using: 3M Heavy duty compound. 3M finesse compound. Finish with pro-tek sealant. Do it in the shade, keep the pad wet, and take your time. I like it a little better than wet sanding, your mileage may vary.

Here's the ticket. Follow instructions in video. They are spot on. https://protecproducts.com/

yup protec is the way to go. Just did my dads boat inside and out and it looks brand new again. Alot of work but the results are incredible.
I always thought it was tan but come to find out its silver! lol
