Heading out to Rayburn on Saturday was wondering if any boat ramps are still closed. We normally put in at Caney. Any info would be great, Thanks!

Yea most are still closed. Search the Rayburn threads and there is a list on one of them. Still atleast a month before ramps start opening I think

Being closed and being usable are two different things.

It might be technically open but unable to be used because the water is too high.

When I talked with the USFS they were talking about opening some of them but I haven't seen where Caney Creek was opened.

Cassels Boykin is open on that side of the lake.

Jackson Hill is another good park to launch at as well.

Anyone have any idea on how much water they are getting out per day/week? I saw it's still 9ft high today. Have a trip planned first of March. Hopefully it's down to a more manageable level by then.

Even when some of the ramps are "opened" they may not be usable since they need 2-3 weeks to dry out. Plus some are gonna have damage. No way twin dikes will not have damage.

It "might" be down by then but I am going to say it will not be if we keep getting rain like we have.

It dropped over foot in a week up until 02/14. I think it was 174.9 at it's peak and looks on the graph to be 173.3 this morning. The best source I find is the USGS Waterdata for Sam Rayburn. In 3 weeks it should be at about 8-9 ft high. SE Texas has rain forecasted for most of next week. I'm going up for a week the second week of March.

Advice? Wise men don't need it. Fools won't heed it.

Can you get under the 147 bridge? I'm guessing not. How high can the lake be and still get under the bridge?
