What is the benefit of having 2 depth finder's on the console. I'm trying to decide whether to add a depth finder to my console. I have one that has si,di,2d,and GPS mapping. Don't know why I need another just like it on

I run two Elite 9ti's on my console. One has a totalscan transducer mounted on the jack plate so its out of the water when on plane. The other has a skimmer transducer connected to it. When running I keep the one with the ts transducer set to my map screen and the other to sonar. When idling around scanning for structure I use both, on bottom scanning and the other on side scan. Set them at different frequencies and no interference.

Why not just do split screen. And it don't run your batteries down running that many units.. I'm really struggling on whether to add another one I have it but not sure I will need it on there. Thanks for the advice.

Im doing the same as tmd11111 I could only afford the 9 helix so if I split my screen the image starts getting small. I run and old small unit with down image when running and when I slow down I use my helix side image and the small unit on 2d or map depending on what I am doing at the moment. Im no pro. Just started back on the bass fishing thing so dont really no what the hell im doing but sounds right to me.

Thanks for the advice. Because when you get old the screens get a bit harder to read especially while running across the lake and two screens look cooler then one.

I started using two this year. One with map and a thru Hull transducer so I have map, depth, speed, fish finder at all speeds. The other I use with side scan transducer so I get nothing while on plane. But give me side scan / down/ scan at idle speed. Use a down scan on the bow on trolling motor. Still learning! Been bass fishing all my life. Trying to learn some of the new technology. Im sure there are ways to get both in one unit but I decided to keep my older Lowrance at the bow because I know and trust the unit.

I've got an older Garmin 73dv I use for downvu, a Garmin Striker 6sv I use for sidevu and a Garmin 73 Plus I use for mapping all on the console. As was mentioned, it's a lot easier for older eyes to look at 7" plus screens than a 10" divided by three.

If you ever use split screen. Then clearly having two units would be better as youll have a bigger display of those views.
Same with larger vs smaller units. Its obvious the larger the better to see more detail.
I have 4 12 I dont use the second one on the bow often in fact I use it so little I may Remove it. But its pretty nice when I do use it.

Oh ok I have 2 10 inch depth finder's I guess I will go ahead and stick it on. But one guy said you have to run them in diffrent frequency so they don't conflict. And what about battery usage should I worry about that.

I ran 2 for a while but then went to the Carbon 16 when it came out. I liked to have all 4 views up at once and really be able to see them. The 16 works perfect for me on size of all 4 screens in 1.

I use (2) different map chips on mine at the dash. You would be surprised to see what some chips have and what others don't. and Im an Old so I cant see as good as I used to, so larger screens instead of split screens make it easier while Im scanning and drinking my Metamucil, LOL ---not really

I have smaller units 1 5"HD and a 7"HD at the console, I get a better picture not splitting the screens, and like others the eyes don't work as well as they use to

Really is easier having two, at console, one doing sonar, the other on mapping, to zero in on a spot. Also very easy to turn off, when fishing, or not in use.

Carbonlite, honestly you keep answering all the reasons to NOT have multiple graphs at one location. Kinda seems like you have narrowed down the decision down for adding more graphs as simply being like the cool kids!
