Great stuff Lane. Thanks for sharing. I'm more of a Striper guy but wouldn't mind picking up a few crappie for the table If you want crappie for the table the I suggest letting the girl whose name starts with a R do the fishing. >E aironeout.

All this information is good...from my perspective the two keys are the the water temperature and moon phase...The rest is using those keys to get on the water and find them, which is what the remainder of the information is dedicated to. Thanks Lane, as always you provide good information, and good baits for the crappie angler.

My little fishing partner Riley is out of commission for 3 months. Decided she wanted to test her strength against a steel pipe while running barrels. fractured her arm pretty good. Now she will just sit there being bossy as usual.

Thanks Laner, you are correct the fish do tend to bite on the northern end of Benbrook first, although I have found them up the creek as early as first of March. But likewise I have found them staging early in 14-18 fow by the dam.

Figured this was relevant as we are all getting more time off work and spring is upon us.

Since this spring had some early warm days, went looking last part of Feb and was amazed at some of the water temps I found up some of the small creeks. Been some fish up shallow since end of Feb. Not consistent, but it never is in the spring. If you didn't fish shallow the last few weeks, you missed some FUN. They are still there, but tmrw will set things back a few days. We had 3-4" rain March 4, and then about 60 hours of north wind and air temps not getting above 57 and down to high 30s at night. That dropped the water temp about 5 degrees most places. But water temps now are close to 70 and I don't remember water that warm in mid March.

This is some really good info. Temps are getting close now and I can't wait to hit the kayak and start looking for some fish.
Again thank you for the info.
