Pay out looks pretty crappy w/o the $5,000 guarantee.

Pay out looks pretty crappy w/o the $5,000 guarantee. Not what it used to be when it was the bassmaster weekend series.

The low payout and weak schedule won't attract too many. Too bad, ABA used to be great. I believe last year there were almost twice as many entries at the first event.

Show up and fish and the payout will be better. I'm sure the weather didn't help the number this past weekend. Whats weak about the schedule?

Last year we were in the 70's for boaters and 60's for co's. 46 and 34 yesterday. I for one said I would not fish it if they went to Cedar Creek in February and stayed true to my word. Cedar Creek has fished awful in the cold but they keep going back. Did some guys catch them? Of course, someone always does. But the numbers of fish caught are bad there and have been every time. Lots of others felt the same way. 34 co's and 19 0's yesterday. Just not worth it. I'll be there at Palestine next month.

I don't think the east texas division has boater #'s in the 70's since earlier in the decade or even prior to 2010, back when they were Bassmaster affiliated... I for one said I would not fish it if they went to Cedar Creek in February and stayed true to my word. Same here. Move CC back to May, June or September for all I care but not February...

Fished that one ABA cedar creek they did in early March and it was brutal as well. Although there were 2 really big fish caught that event.

How was Palestine Saturday? Cold. Water temp up north dropped 12-15 degrees in three days. Bites were hard to come by. Our winners weighed four for 21.17. Two over 6. Next check was 11. Only one limit out of 38 boats. We manged three and the last check. When they went to 5000 guaranteed to win on the boater side, the entries went way up. We had a couple last year with boaters over 70 boats

Guarantee is still there with 60 boats. Bad weather weekend. Pretty sure there would of been 60+ boats with normal weather. Hopefully numbers are back up at Palestine.

24+ on CC is really impressive right now considering the conditions. He must have landed on the right school of fish. Have a hard time believing all of those fish were caught up shallow.
