Anyone been up to the Nolan at Rock Creek yet, or seen any sand bass action in the area? Thinking of going late this week. Hoping this cold and a little rain will help get them going.

It wont matter if we get anymore rain in the area. Theres plenty of water and the flows are sufficient enough right now. Fish should be trickling in at the moment. My opinion, this will be a good long run for crappie and sandies.

What do I know about catching striped fish.....I only catch 10 or 20 each run...... lol Jesse10 I saw some fish pictures of you you need to explain. Preferably while we are catching my 10-20 quota. I guess that means you will have to talk fast. That gives you five to ten min. roflmao You are so very right no feeder creeks/rivers except west Texas will need any rise. But a good heavy rain will sure summon the big girls. Three years of great runs it should be epic everywhere everyone should be able to spread out across the state. Fish have been in a bunch or rivers sense dove season. Ill call and pick your brain this week Jesse10 also have a honey hole when your ready.

Was on Brazcos at mouth of Nolan today and Monday. Alot of fish there on graph. 2 of us caught 4 nice size on Monday, today i was alone and caught only 6. Watertemp was 57.4 at noon. Found not much up Nolan. With this up comig cold snap, I think we are a week to 10 days from good fishing.

We put in at Hamms Creek yesterday and couldnt buy a bite anywhere. It appears there not quite there yet. Water temp in deeper part of the river (10-20 ft.) is still in the mid 50s. Did find some water up river 5ft. And less that was 65+. Anyone have any luck anywhere else on the Brazos above Whitney lately?

On Thursday put in at Kimball fish mouth of Nolan and up Nolan a mile or so , not a bite. Went up river to Hamm Creek fish up and down river, not a bite. Friday put in at Hamm fish up river to the shallows about a dozen boat, no one catching fish EXCEPT one guy, he was in one spot, a deep hole against bank catching one about every cast. He was using a small yellow grubb type jig bumping it on bottom in that one hole. We fished about 100 feet from him and I caught one nice female. Wouldnt get any closer to him, didnt want to mess him up. Talked to other no one else got bites. This coming week should be better.

Yesterday was the most sand bass I have seen in the area all year. Marked large schools coming through mixed with stripers slowly moving slabs up and down worked great. Still biting when we left around 2:00
